Beverly "Bev" Anthony

TRIMONT - Beverly “Bev” J. Anthony, age 89, of Trimont, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 6, 2025.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Bev at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont (61 Apple Street East, Trimont, MN 56176) with Pastor Kelly France officiating. 

Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center - Trimont Chapel (111 Apple Street East, Trimont, MN 56176) . Visitation will also take place prior to Bev’s service on Wednesday starting at 9:30 AM at the church. If you’re unable to attend Bev’s service, you can watch it live or view the recorded version later on Bev’s obituary page at www.sinnfuneralhome.com.

In honor of Bev’s wishes, please refrain from sending flowers, plants, or any other gifts. Instead, memorials may be made in her name to your local food shelf, the ELCA Hunger Appeal, or UHD Home Health & Hospice of Blue Earth/Fairmont.

The Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center of Trimont and Welcome is assisting the family with arrangements.

Beverly “Bev” J. Peterson was born on December 19, 1935, to Alfred and Ruth (Swanson) Peterson in Triumph, MN. Bev was baptized at her family home and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Trimont. She graduated from Trimont High School with the class of 1953 and continued her education at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, where she played clarinet in the U of M Marching Band. Following her graduation, Bev taught high school home economics at Hancock and Comfrey. On August 9, 1958, Bev was united in marriage to Darwin Anthony. Together, they made their home in Trimont and were blessed with three children, Lisa, Kristin, and John. 

Bev was a very creative person and this was evident in her quilting, decorating for various holidays, making Swedish straw ornaments and elaborate cards. She was a wonderful cook and baker, known especially for her rye bread and raisin cookies. An avid reader, Bev always had a book in her hand, purse, or car. She embraced her Swedish heritage, passing this on to her kids and grandkids. Bev was a kind and gentle soul with a good sense of humor and the dry wit of her father. Family was everything to Bev, and her children, grandchildren and great grandson were her pride and joy. Her faith was strong and guided her life. She was our North Star and the moral compass of our family. 

Beverly is survived by her husband of 66 years, Darwin; children, Lisa (Tim) Hansen, Kristin (Richard Clark) Anthony, and John (Connie) Anthony; grandchildren, Kai (Kathryn Geskermann) Hansen, Karin (Mubarik) Ibrahim, Anders (Hoda Al-Haddad) Hansen, Zoe (Drake Deitch) Sims, Maylen (Derek Klein) Anthony and Espen Anthony (Audra Bartsch); great-grandson, August Hansen; sister-in-law, Joyce Peterson; nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Ruth; sister, Kathryn (Leslie) Peterson; brother, John Peterson; and nephew, Karl Peterson.
