ORMSBY - Edward L. “Eddie” Bell, age 83, of rural Ormsby, MN, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on February 22, 2025.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Eddie at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center - Trimont Chapel, (111 Apple Street East, Trimont, MN 56176). The service will be recorded and available after the service at Eddie’s obituary page at www.sinnfuneralhome.com. 

Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Eddie will be buried at the Long Lake Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural St. James, MN. In honor of Eddie’s service in the U.S. Army, Military Honors will be provided at the funeral home following the service by the Thomas P. Saxton American Legion Post #356 of Sherburn, Sherburn Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8261, and members of the the U.S. Army Active Duty Funeral Honors Team.

Edward L. “Eddie” Bell was born on August 6, 1941, to Marion and Leona (Jessen) Bell in Mapleton, Iowa. He was a devoted lifelong Methodist, baptized and confirmed in his faith, and a dedicated member of the Trimont United Methodist Church. Eddie attended school in Mapleton, Iowa, and graduated with the class of 1959. Following graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, entering into service in January of 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1965.

On June 5, 1965, Eddie was united in marriage to Judith Ann “Judy” Stauffer in St. James, MN. Eddie and Judy were blessed with four children, Edward II, Jason, Jonathan, and Eric.

Eddie enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gun restoration, refinishing furniture, and riding motorcycles. He had a passion for history of all kinds, but especially found an interest in researching family genealogy. He had a knack for landscaping and gardening and took pride in keeping his surroundings well-maintained. Eddie was known for his wonderful storytelling, and he had a special way of bringing memories to life. In his quieter moments, he liked to play solitaire on the computer and unwind.

Eddie was a member of the Thomas P. Saxton American Legion Post and proudly served on the honor guard. He was a proud 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and also a member of the Eagles. He was a lifelong member of both the American Legion and AMVETS.

Eddie will forever be remembered by the love of his life, Judy; sons, Edward II (Nicole) Bell, Jason (Ang) Bell, Jonathan, and Eric (Leslie) Bell; grandchildren, Ryan (Quynh), Kailyn, Alyssa, Elizabeth, Cassia, Linnea; brothers, Gary Bell and Stephen Bell; sister, Dixie Peters; his beloved dog, Mandy; and other relatives and friends.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; and other relatives and friends.
