In memory of Eileen, memorials may be made out to the Welcome Legion Auxiliary Post 553 or the American Red Cross. Furthermore, if you have never given blood before please consider starting to donate blood in her honor.

Eileen Marie (Poppe) Morrow was born June 9th, 1950, to Clarence and Hilda (Detert) Poppe. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. John’s Lutheran in Sherburn MN. After attending elementary and high school in Sherburn, she journeyed to Jackson to attend Southwest Minnesota Vocational school for Accounting.

On November, 14th 1969, she was united in marriage to Steven Donald Morrow and spent 8 months living in Kingsville, TX, during Steve’s Naval Duty. They eventually settled in Welcome, Minnesota, where they built their family of five. Later in life, Steve and Eileen invested in a beautiful and comfy “winter” home in Fort Myers, Florida. They enjoyed the relief from the cold winter months and grew many meaningful and loving friendships with other snowbirds from around the United States.

Eileen had a variety of professions throughout her life with the most cherished job she held being at Farm Bureau Insurance in Fairmont. There she worked with countless insureds and agents that she adored.

Eileen spent many years as an American Legion Auxiliary Post 553 Welcome member holding many positions from President, Treasurer and Secretary. She also spent many years serving the Trinity Lutheran Church Council and Thrivent Lutheran Brotherhood.

Eileen was a proud 15+ gallon donor to the Red Cross Blood Drive with many other donations given at non-Red Cross facilities all over Fort Myers. She understood the importance of donating and was very disappointed if a Blood Drive opportunity passed by that she wasn’t able to donate. She was also a dedicated volunteer at Ruby’s Pantry in Sherburn.

During her retirement, Eileen became an avid quilter and member of the Wildcats Quilt Group. She took great pride and joy in producing beautiful quilts. It was her mission at the end to ensure that each of her Poppe/Morrow siblings received a quilt made with her love and passion.

Eileen preferred to give rather than receive and wanted nothing more than others’ happiness to come before hers. She loved to can, bake, garden and share her bounties with others.

Her hugs were always the best, most comforting, and full, completely full, of love.

Eileen is survived and missed by her loving husband Steve of 55 years; and her children, Scott (Amy) Morrow, Amy (Ron) Smith. Forever cherished and remembered by her grandchildren, Todd Morrow II (fiancee, Becca Lunn), Brianna Morrow and Addison Smith; siblings, Marilyn Poppe and Gerald (Rebecca) Poppe; in-laws Doug (Sue) Morrow, Dennis Morrow (Lori Ann LaCanne), Debra (David) Miller and Bev (Greg) Lindsay; and many many nieces and nephews.

Eileen was preceded in death by her son, Todd Morrow; her parents Clarence and Hilda Poppe; In-Laws, Donald and Patricia Morrow; and many aunts and uncles.
